Vraj Patel is a graduate student at the Georgia Institute of Technology pursuing an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering. He graduated from Princeton University with a B.S.E. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and a minor in Robotics and Intelligent Systems. His research interests lie at the intersection of space robotics and space system design, focusing on autonomous control, robotic manipulation in space environments, and computer vision. His undergraduate research focused on designing and implementing an aerial robotic system that featured a quadrotor UAV with an integrated robotic gripper, aimed at autonomously performing complex retrieval and delivery tasks. Vraj has interned at Maxar Technologies, where he created prototype designs for communication subsystems for various programs, such as NASA’s Power and Propulsion Element module and L3Harris’s T1TRK bus. He was also a 2024 Matthew Isakowitz Fellow, where he worked at Redwire Space as a test and space system design engineering intern. Outside of his academic and professional pursuits, Vraj is an avid sports fan who particularly enjoys watching and playing soccer. He also enjoys traveling, learning how to cook, and watching movies.
