Basil is pursuing Ph.D. in aerospace engineering starting in the fall of 2024. She graduated with her bachelor's degree in the same field in the spring of 2023. Her interests include orbit determination, space system design, and planetary science.

Starting in the fall of 2024, Basil will be one of the lead organizers for the Georgia Tech chapter of Queer Science – an organization dedicated to connecting LGBTQIA+ high school students with professionals in the STEM fields. In her previous role, she created aerospace related activities for the students including the assembly of 3D printed CubeSats. 

Outside of Georgia Tech, Basil enjoys visiting new coffee shops, origami, and learning to play bass guitar.
