Heying Zhang is a graduate student at Georgia Institute of Technology pursuing a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering after completing her bachelor's degree at Georgia Tech with highest honors in May 2022.

She is a highly proactive and curious student with passion in enabling future space expeditions. Some exciting projects Heying has participated in include: decision-making assistance for electromagnetic warfare campaign analysis using artificial intelligence with Dr. Sudol in ASDL, Cyber/product security architecting for Boeing Defense, transient thermal modeling for spacecraft fuel tank with multilayer insulation for Sierra Lobo, Core-Shell nano particle and Mechanophenotyping of nano/micro particles with Duke University, and NASA BIG Idea Challenge Competitions for electromagnetic hopper and UV enhanced electrodynamic shielding dust mitigation proposals for the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Department at Georgia Tech.

Outside of school, Heying enjoys reading, traveling, kayaking, ice skating, soccer, and heading to art museums. She is an opportunist and sees all challenge and failure as a way to learn and grow. A continued enthusiasm of Heying is trying new things and meeting new friends.
