Michela Mancini is a Ph.D. student at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Her interests lie in the application of geometry to the resolution of problems related to astrodynamics. Recently, her research focused on Initial Orbit Determination and on the study of crater projection with pushbroom cameras.

Michela earned her master’s degree at Georgia Tech working on a thesis related to the analysis of the application of algebraic geometry to the resolution of angles-only IOD. She also obtained a master’s degree at the Sapienza University of Rome, where she graduated cum laude.

She loves facing new challenges, and she strongly believes in teamwork as the best way to achieve the greatest results, conviction that comes from her passion for team sports, in particular volleyball, which she played competitively for several years.
